So, we have the funniest, craziest old man who lives right next door to us. We love him and of course our kids call him Grandpa Carl. Carl is the old man who wears old levis, suspenders and a cut off sleeve shirt everyday throughout the summer. He has lots of old wrinkly skin that hangs off of most parts of his body (that we see), and has a grumpy looking disposition to him. We however have become quite fond of Grandma and Grandpa Carl. He helped us all winter shoveling our driveway, (which was usually when Jake was out there not I... hmmm) anyway, they have this enormous garden and we have had the joy of feeding from many of their vegetables, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, etc. I have made salsa from their peppers and we always enjoy our good conversations which are usually long lasting.
Anyway, Carl was irrigating one day, so he invited the kids over to enjoy the water works. It was so much fun, the kids and Grandpa and some of his grandkids all enjoyed in the festivities. Holden rode his bike down and all through the water, and pretty much everyone was wet except me and Grandma! We had a ball, and always enjoy our time with Grandma and Grandpa.
Funny that most places we live, we usually end up adopting and extra set of Grandparents... wonder why that is?

thats what we do too we have a set of old neighbors as well and they have taken on G&G too!
